The Best Two Weeks.

**Sorry for my blonde moment spelling STOCKYARDS wrong!

Well Josh and I have had a WONDERFUL last two weeks.  It has been so much fun and that is why I have not written for a little while.  First off, my parents came to visit us!  They spent the week with us in Dallas spoiling Josh & I rotten.  It was so good to see them and spend time together.  We played tourist and visited every place we could think of.

since my parents were coming I found it a great reason
to start decorating for my favorite season of the year -
fall (: so here is a little peak!
The first place we went together was the Arlington Convention Center.  The boys were so sweet and let the girls go spend the weekend at "Time Out for Women" while they hung out at home.  If you haven't heard of it, time our for women has a bunch of LDS speakers and musicians that get together for an uplifting weekend.  It was both my and my mom's first time going and we fell in LOVE.  It was so uplifting and fun!  Many of the speakers spoke about our divine role and women and what an important part we play and to never forget your worth!  Icing on the cake we got to meet Hilary Weeks!

If you haven't already, check out Hilary's music (:
We visited the Sixth Floor Museum to see the JFK museum.  So interesting.  I loved the quote:  "History, after all, is the memory of a nation."  If you get the chance to come to Dallas this is an incredible moving museum and you will learn a lot.

LOVE this photo.

While they were here we went to a Ranger's game while they played the Angels the number one team in the league.  We sat 5th row which was pretty sweet for an MLB game!

We spent a lot of time doing things I didn't take pictures of like shopping [thanks dad!(: ] , walking all around downtown Dallas, movie/game nights and eating at every single restaurant we love [I promise the food really is better in Texas].  It was a blast.  My favorite week so far of being in Dallas with my favorite people!

and OF COURSE we had to pedicures while my mom was here!
One night we took my parents to the stockyards - another one of my favorite places in Texas.  I love to go see the rodeo horses [I'm certain I was a cowgirl in another life & if Josh wasn't allergic to horses I would still be dreaming of getting a pony someday! (; ].   And after my parents headed home for the night Josh and I headed to the Josh Turner concert because of course it doesn't start until 10:30 p.m!  Me and late nights don't always go together but for Josh Turner I was willing to make the sacrifice!  I just have to give a shout out to Josh Turner even though he'd never stumble upon my blog in a million years but he is INCREDIBLE in concert.  I'm not just saying that.  He is my absolute favorite person to go see live.  He' totally gets to know the crowd and has some of the most uplifting [and even Christian] clean songs around.  So now that I have convinced you,  if he is every at Billy Bob's at the Stockards again Josh and I will totally be there and will save you a seat (;

Time with my parents FLEW by! So sad but I am so grateful they could come!  They left on Saturday and last minute we decided to follow them home to Salt Lake and surprise Josh's mom for her birthday dinner.  We feel so blessed to be able to fly home like this.  I LOVE seeing temple square.  There is no place like it and every time I see it I feel at home.

We literally were in Utah for 12 hours before heading back home at the crack of dawn.  Flying standby can mean a lot of airport time but at least we had a gorgeous view.

And I apologize for the tardiness here are my September Visiting Teaching Printables if you are interested.  Josh and I have moved to a new ward but haven't been yet so it took me a little while to remember visiting teaching!  I LOVE the message this month and it is one I have been taking to heart these last few weeks in Dallas.  The Savior is our comforter and he knows EXACTLY how we feel even when we think no one could.  He knows every single moment of your life that has led up to making you feel the way you do.  He has been through your pain and sorrows and because of this He knows how to run to you and comfort you.  Being in new in Dallas sometimes I feel all alone and start to get down but every time I know I can pray to my Savior and he can succor me and help me find my way and why Josh and I are here and I know He will for you as well (:  And because of this He wants us to reach out to our brothers and sisters and help lift their burdens [and what better way than visiting teaching?!].  Enjoy!  Here is a link to the message on LDS.org: September Visiting Teaching Message
